Every 3 years our local school district (Watertown, SD) hosts a Health Fair for all the district employees to promote health and wellness to their staff. Plant Street had the opportunity to have a booth as well as provide an educational lecture on the 6 pillars of health as defined by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and on how a whole food, plant-based diet can prevent and reverse many forms of chronic disease with a lecture titled “How to Live Your Best life.”
Alison Gerrish, PA-C, CEO, and diplomate of American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ABLM) represented Plant Street and joined many other health advocates and representatives from around South Dakota. Attendees had a plethora of breakout sessions they could choose from as well as fitness classes and vendor booths.
With a few hundred people in attendance, the event was a success overall and the Watertown School District should be commended to provide such an important information to their staff.
