Alison Gerrish, PA-C
CEO & Cofounder
Alison is a certified Physician Assistant who is passionate about whole foods plant-based nutrition and how it can maximize our health. Growing up eating what she thought was a healthy standard American diet, where meat was the focus of each meal and a glass of milk was always the drink of choice, her unknown unhealthy eating habits caught up to her in her late twenty’s suffering from chronic migraines and IBS. She discovered a Whole Foods Plant Based diet in 2017 and was blown away by all the scientific literature supporting this lifestyle that she had never been taught in PA school. It is now her mission to teach and help others see that food and lifestyle is the answer to optimal health through continued volunteering locally and through health coaching with Plant Street.
Alison has an undergraduate degree in Human Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010 and her certificate in Whole Foods Plant Based Nutrition in 2017 from T. Colin Campbell’s Center for Nutrition Studies. She is a diplomate of The American College of Lifestyle Medicine and is a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional. She continues to practice part time as a Physician Assistant in Hospital Medicine, but spends most of her time spreading knowledge of a WFPB lifestyle and running a local gym that she owns with her husband. She is a busy mom of 3 small children and is married to Dr. Greg Gerrish, a general surgeon, is also part of the Plant Street team. Outside of nutrition and spending time with her family, Alison enjoys exercising regularly and gardening.
